Not so easy to read as i would it to be a little easyer. Solidarity towards others, pride, love, ambition, pride, bribery, suffering. But even the plot was so plodding and it was never really freed up. "I will be" is a confession that "I am not". So far I have only read the first chapter [or what ever this author calls them] about the JFK assassination. In any case, I miss it. While at first the story might seem somewhat contrived, Marson's creative brillance brings it off seamlessly. His "Weaver" series takes a new spin on alt-history, with attempts by some people of an unspecified future trying to change the course of (mostly) Western Civilization through attempted interventions at critical historical points - Constantine, the Battle of Hastings, Columbus, etc. Every reader will enjoy the wit and subtlety in the novel's dangerous, delicate balance of eighteenth-century customs and transgressions. The loving descriptions of childrood food and recipes to boot.
