Our nation's forests were no longer merely a resource to be exploited for profit. So much so that you find yourself caring about the characters and wanting to fight for them and care for them; in their time of tragic need. Spoiler - it’s not because this is a natural and acceptable part of motherhood - and suggests if they loved and connected with their babies differently, they never would have felt this maternal frustration. There is also considerable description of the armaments of the Line. In 1978 the Turrigianos met John Wimber and began dreaming about starting what would become a Vineyard Church in NYC. This is a really cool book, and a good introduction to comic style reads. Loved the story of Clarissa and Ezra. It has so many recipes in it that I want to try.
