The selection documents periods of civil war, migration, shifts in power, Muslim expansion into Central Europe, complex feudal loyalties, the aristocracy of new nations, and European expansion into the New World. The book is very relevant today as it was the day first published or 2000 years ago. While, overall, It's an interesting and very human story about the early years of WWII and draws upon the fascination that some of the major Nazi players had for the occult, I found the idea of altering the present by dream contact with characters in the past to be brilliant. "What wing moved, I wonder, to bring me that extraordinary moment when love changes you, frees you and transforms the shape of what you have become because of love. They also remind us that no matter what our trial may be, God has it covered for us.
